Time is Money is a Shareware time and expense billing and accounting system
that will allow you to completely automate your billing and receivables. It
supports time billing in any increment, and also the sale of equipment or
fixed price contracts.
As a member of the Association of Shareware Professionals, we hope you
will register this copy as an indication of your support for the Shareware
concept. For complete registration information, read the registration
information below and in the on-line manual. Registration is required if you
are using this program in a business environment after initial testing.
Please send in the registration form provided in the file license.txt if you
are registering the source code version of Time is Money.
Time is Money version 2.1 requires an IBM-PC/XT, AT or compatible computer
with a hard disk having at least 600K of free space, and approximately 490K
of free ram memory after loading DOS and your normal operating environment.
It will run on either color or monochrome systems, and can utilize
practically any printer. Other versions of Time is Money which will run on
systems with less memory are available on request to registered users. Also,
a Foxbase+ version is available which has a command line interface that
simulates the dot prompt in dBASE III+ or Foxbase+.
First copy all the files from this archive into a new directory on your hard
disk, and then type INSTALL <enter> to install the program. If you are using
a previous version of Time is Money, and are a registered user call for an
update program before installing this version.
In order to run Time is Money, you must have a CONFIG.SYS file in the root
directory of your boot disk. It must have the following minimum values:
FILES=25
BUFFERS=15
If you do not have a CONFIG.SYS file, you can create one as follows. At the
DOS prompt of your hard disk (i.e. C>) type the following and press the
<Enter> key after each line:
CD\
COPY CON:CONFIG.SYS
FILES=25
BUFFERS=15
Then press function key F6 (it will display ^Z) and the <Enter> key. You will
get the message "1 file copied."
To start the Time is Money time billing system, you must first run VIDPOP.COM
to load the screen display utility. To do this, type VIDPOP <Enter> at the
DOS prompt in the TIM directory. This needs to be run only once each
session, and could be put in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
After you have loaded VIDPOP, you can begin the Time is Money program by
typing TIM <Enter>. Once you are at the main menu, you should press function
key F1 to read the on-line manual. The manual is available only from the
main menu.
Alternately, you can type START to run Time is Money without making VIDPOP
resident in memory. TIM will take slightly longer to load this way, but you
will have an extra 40K of memory over the first option.
Thanks to Russell Freeland for his LIGHTBAR.BIN program, and Andrew Schulman
for his PAGES program upon which the on line help facility is based. This
program was compiled with the QuickSilver compiler by Wordtech Systems. And
finally, thanks to you for using and registering this software.
LICENSING TIME IS MONEY
Time is Money is being distributed as User Supported Software. That is, if
you like the program and are using it, you should send an amount that you
feel adequately compensates its value to you to:
CUSTOM DATA SOLUTIONS
820 Driver Avenue
Winter Park, FL 32789
A suggested amount would be one or two hours worth of your hourly fee. We
feel sure that Time is Money will save you much more than this in billable
time in the first month you use it.
You may well ask what will I receive in return if I license the program?
Well besides the satisfaction of paying for a program that you are using and
deriving benefit from, you will receive the following based on the amount you
send.
Less than $50 will get you our thanks and best wishes, and the phone number
for support to be charged at $60.00 per hour prorated by the minute.
$50 to $94 will get you the most current version of the program, and a phone
number (your nickel) for support, along with 1 hour of free support.
Additional support will be charged at the rate of $60.00 per hour pro-rated
by the minute.
$95 or more will get you the most current version of the program, plus all of
the dBASE III+ source code for the program and the support phone number with
2 hours of free support. Additional support will be charged as above. Also,
you will receive a Foxbase+ version of the program that runs in less memory,
and much faster than the Quicksilver version. In addition, the Foxbase+
version includes the "Exit to command line" option on the main menu, which
allows you to use any Foxbase+ or dBASE command to create new reports,
databases, label forms, and anything else you might do with dBASE III+. The
only limitation on this command line is that you cannot run a program that is
not compiled with Foxbase+.
Support or registration may be paid for by Mastercard, Visa, or by sending a
check in advance. For $200 per year, you can receive unlimited free support,
and free updates as they are issued including registration.
I am anxious to hear suggestions, compliments and complaints about Time is
Money. If you are a registered user, and I feel that your suggestion will
add to the value of the program, it is quite likely that I will implement it
very quickly and send you a new version of the program at no charge. Custom
modifications can also be implemented at an agreed upon charge. If you are
not a registered user, I am still anxious to hear your comments, etc.
Time is Money MAY NOT BE sold, or included in any compilation of programs
which are sold without the express written permission of Custom Data
Solutions.
Thank you very much for your interest in Time is Money, I look forward to
hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Custom Data Solutions
